Join is a project that studies how furniture can positively affect social behaviour. The table is designed to encourage social inclusion, collaboration and connection between its users. The title Join references the connections made between people around the table .
The design uses multiple circles for there implicit functions: absence of abrupt angles, allowing intimacy and flexibility and adaptablitly through the sliding seats.
Join encourages positive behaviour, in domestic, dining, and professional environments. The form is playful and unusual allowing more social possibilities.
Together, is the merging of two socially engaged projects through the collaboration between two designers, Michael Giambrone and Charlotte Cropper. With a shared fascination of social connectivity, Charlotte and Michael combined their disciplines investigate how furniture can change the way people and groups behave.
Together they designed and handcrafted this table.
